In this era of seemingly bad news all the time, there is an unmet need to easily find good news, particularly news about samaritans toiling in obscurity to improve the human condition. There are good-news sites and newswire services, but either the good news is sparsely sprinkled among the bad, or there is an arbiter, or the definition of good is too broad or not serious.
What’s needed is a site where good causes can let others know what they are doing so that the deserving ones among them can gain attention and vital support.
The planned (June `09) site shall be used by nonprofits/charities to post news and event headlines for the general public and media to find news items of interest. It is fully expected that members members of the media will link to this site to keep their readers informed. |

To increase the sites visibility it we support social bookmarking and RSS subscription.
Content management of the site will be handled by the user community.
There is no charge to use the site in Version 1, but users are encouraged to make voluntary cash contributions by PayPal or check. Such income supplements major donations from foundations and the like.
Job posts in the non-profit sector will be a future feature. |
